5 Best Places to Eat in Jackson Hole

Jackson Hole is a major hub for tourism. Though the town only has about 10,000 year-round inhabitants, another 50,000 come here for the summer – not to mention the millions of tourists who pass through on their way to tour Yellowstone National Park or Grand Teton. Here are five of the best place to eat in Jackson Hole before or after your Scenic Safaris park tour.

The Bird: Though a bit pricey for the area, The Bird has a reputation for dishing up one of the best burgers around. The log cabin décor and breathtaking patio views make for an enjoyable pit-stop, while beer brats and steaks will keep you full all day. Not surprisingly, The Bird specializes in hot wings, available in medium, hot and “Oh, My God” (ghost pepper and Trinidad scorpion) varieties. Trust us, you’ll want to spring the extra 50 cents for more ranch if you order the latter.

Persephone Bakery: One of the top-rated restaurants in Jackson, this quaint breakfast joint dishes up a truffled egg skillet to die for. In addition to a broad selection of cakes, cookies and pastries, Persephone delights with bread pudding French toast, sweet potato hash and of course plenty of latte options. Though the farmhouse style interior is petite, there’s plenty of patio seating with a mountain view outside.

Sidewinders Tavern: Featured on Guy Fieri’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, this classic American grill features a log cabin look and vintage airplane models suspended from the ceiling. Expect more than a dozen brews on tap, plus burgers, sandwiches and tasty comfort classics like mac n’ cheese. Chow down on the eatery’s signature “S” shaped pretzel while watching the big game on the flat-screen TVs above the bar, or order up a chicken pot pie and take in the gorgeous Wyoming scenery from the deck patio.

Teton Tiger: If craving grub that’s a little more adventurous, take a safari to the Teton Tiger for Chinese, Korean and Thai-inspired meals. The digs here are modern, yet rustic, with wood plank walls, open-beam ceilings and a set of moose antlers on the wall. The eats are equally eclectic. Steamed dumplings get reinvented with bison meat, and tandoori chicken is stuffed into a burrito wrapper. House favorites include Mama’s Midnight Ramen with pork belly and soft-boiled egg, Shanghai street noodles and creamy tomato curry.

Silver Dollar Grill: For a taste of the Wild West, mosey up to a booth at The Wort Hotel’s elegant eatery. The name isn’t just backtalk, either. More than three hundred 1921 Morgan silver dollars are inlaid among the black walnut tables, stained glass panels and custom millwork inside the dining room. Warm up with corn chowder or bison and bacon chili, followed up by hearty chuck wagon platters like pork porterhouse or elk pot roast served with roasted potatoes and gravy.
