A guided float tour along the Snake River is a one-of-a-kind way to access nature surrounding the Jackson Hole area. The Scenic Safaris Snake River Float & Sunset Wildlife Tour takes you through the Snake River Canyon and Grand Teton National Park–an epic sightseeing opportunity for visitors and locals alike. Here’s what you can expect.

 About the Tour

As you float down the river, tour guides will share information on the history of the area as well as teach you about the local flora and fauna. The canyon and the park are rich in geological history and your guide will point out some of the features that make the vast area unique.

Scenic Float: The 13-mile scenic float portion of the tour departs at 12:15 p.m. west of the town of Jackson and winds its way south through braided river channels and sand bars. All positions in the raft are non-paddling positions. Just relax and take in the beauty of Jackson Hole.

Wildlife Tour: During the wildlife portion of the tour, you can go out and roam the antelope flats north of Jackson Hole in search of bison and other big Wyoming game. You can have dinner on the deck at Signal Mountain Lodge and watch the sunset over the stunning Grand Teton Mountain Range.

 What You’ll See

On the Snake River trip you may see beaver, cutthroat trout, cliff swallows, osprey and bald eagles. A lucky few may even catch a glimpse of a mule deer, moose, elk or even a grizzly or black bear.

During the wildlife tour, experience a bit of Jackson Hole history at the Shane Cabins and see what early life in Jackson Hole might have been like. As you make your way back to Jackson Hole along the wooded Moose-Wilson road, keep your binoculars ready because you’ll be in prime habitat for the North American Moose.
