Summer Hikes In Yellowstone
Days are getting longer and the temperatures are getting warmer. Summer is definitely on its way! Here at Scenic Safaris, we love the beauty of Yellowstone all year long, but there is no denying that summer is peak season for a reason at America’s first national park. While there are a lot of ways to see Yellowstone, nothing brings you up close and personal with the park’s diverse natural beauty like hiking. Old Faithful Geyser Basin Hike
The most well known of the park’s hydrothermal features, Old Faithful is one of more than 500 geysers in Yellowstone. Along the way to the Old Faithful basin, we’ll pass Moose Falls, Lewis Falls, Kepler Cascades, and the West Thumb Geyser Basin. We’ll watch Old Faithful erupt before heading out to explore beyond the beaten path. You’ll learn about the history, the wildlife, and the geology of Yellowstone from our knowledgeable and professional guides. We’ll provide binoculars and spotting scopes for your viewing delight, but you’ll definitely want to bring a camera to make your memories last.
Grand Canyon Trail Hike
Carved into the rock by the force of the Yellowstone River, the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone is absolutely striking. Along this hike, you’ll see the Upper and Lower Falls of the Yellowstone River. The majestic Lower Falls are more than twice as tall as Niagara Falls and depending on the season, anywhere from 5,000 to 63,500 gallons of water flows over the falls every second. This hike offers beginning and advanced hiking opportunities as well as great wildlife viewing. You’ll want to keep watch for bears, moose, and bald eagles. Our trained guides will share their knowledge about the flora, fauna, and geology of Yellowstone.
