Five Reasons to Experience National Park Day at Yellowstone

This year, National Park Week begins on April 16 and there are a thousand good reasons to spend your day at Yellowstone National Park. 1. Admission to the Park is Free

On National Park Day, admission to Yellowstone is completely free. It's normally $30 per carload or $15 per individual who enters the park hiking, on a bicycle, or on skis. Take the chance to discover a new national park or multiple parks, if you’re able with this free admission. Also be sure to check out their Every Kid in a Park program and see how your 4th grader can get free entrance to any park for an entire year!

2. April 16th is National Junior Ranger Day

Take your little ones out to the park and for a chance to earn their Junior Ranger Badge or become a Centennial Junior Ranger! Kids get to participate in fun-filled activities to learn more about the environment and about America's national parks.

3. National Park Week Includes Earth Day

Earth Day falls on April 22nd every year; celebrate it this year at Yellowstone National Park and enjoy special programs geared around the history and significance of this special day. You can even visit the Find a Park website to find out if there are any volunteer events that you can be a part of on Earth Day.

4. Enjoy Park Rx Day

If you stick around until the end – April 24th – you'll have a chance to participate in Park Prescription Day. It's a day set aside for events and park activities that promote a healthy lifestyle. Take part in this once-a-year campaign to better your quality of life.

5. You Can Be Part of a Movement

When you visit Yellowstone on this day or during National Park Week, you become a part of history. People all across America flock to these most scenic, protected wild places to explore, indulge, picnic, swim, hike, bike, or just enjoy.
